Europe's Largest Pension Fund Acquires $2.8 Billion Mortgage Portfolio

Foreks - Europe's largest pension fund Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP has expanded its investments in the asset class by acquiring a Dutch mortgage portfolio worth 2.7 billion euros (2.8 billion dollars). It was noted that ABP took over the mortgages from an investor on the NIBC Bank's platform. With this deal, the Dutch pension fund's mortgage portfolio in the Netherlands has exceeded 7.3 billion euros. ABP, which manages the retirement benefits of three million civil service and education sector employees, has approximately 530 billion euros in assets under management worldwide.
