RENEWAL - Key Topics Discussed for Companies at TÜSİAD SD² Event

Forex - The STEP (Industry-Technology Integration Program) event of the TÜSİAD Digital Transformation Program in Industry (TÜSİAD SD2), aimed at supporting the transformation of the Turkish industry, has been held. In STEP, where company matches have been determined for digital transformation projects, important topics were discussed with industry experts for companies.

TÜSİAD SD2 brought together companies seeking technological solutions, technology-producing SMEs, and actors in the digital transformation ecosystem as part of STEP. Companies in the last call group of TÜSİAD SD2 selected their technology partners and facilitated matches, while also engaging in bilateral meetings and networking among the participating companies in STEP. Participants had the opportunity to watch digital solution presentations from technology companies.

The program also addressed significant topics for companies with the aim of sharing experiences in the field of digital transformation, as has been done in previous sessions. The topics of the STEP sessions, where 23 speakers shared their views and suggestions, included: "TÜSİAD's Digital Transformation Perspective," "Looking Ahead to 2025 in TÜSİAD SD²," "Roadmap and Innovation Approach for Technology Users," "The Economic Potential of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Turkey," "Smart Factory Applications and Future Perspectives," "TÜSİAD SD² Applications in Automotive and Retail," "Sustainability from Sector and Technology Perspectives," "The Use of Artificial Intelligence and Data & Legal and Security Dimensions," "Supplier's Customer Notes from the Field," "Traceability in the Supply Chain: Where Are We on the Path from Awareness to Implementation for Sustainability?", "TÜSİAD SD² Case Example in the Supply Chain," "From Hardware to Software Driven Industries," and "TÜSİAD's Twin Transformation Vision."

The opening speeches of the event were made by TÜSİAD Board Member and Chairman of the Digital Turkey Roundtable Perihan İnci and TÜSİAD SD2 Task Force Chairman Onur Eren. The closing speech was delivered by TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan.

In his closing speech, TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan stated:
"Green and digital transformation is one of the most important overarching topics on our agenda. To effectively integrate into global supply chains and maintain our competitiveness in global markets, particularly in the EU market, we must prioritize our high value-added production goals created through twin transformation. While ensuring that the investment ecosystem focuses on value-added and advanced technology production, we must also consider the elements of green and digital transformation and strategically position SMEs, which are critical links in the value chain. We see it as crucial to develop incentive mechanisms that will enable these investments at the SME level. We emphasize the importance of informing our SMEs about the green development framework in a holistic approach, making the resources they need accessible, and integrating them into green production."

TÜSİAD Board Member and Chairman of the Digital Turkey Roundtable Perihan İnci stated:
"As TÜSİAD, we meticulously examine every aspect of this process by addressing the digitalization of sectors, human resources with digital competencies, data protection and technology law, and the strategies and planning of the EU, among all dimensions of digital transformation. In all studies conducted by TÜSİAD, we launched the TÜSİAD SD2 Program in 2018 with the aim of contributing to the solution of the disconnection problem in the meeting of supply and demand in technology. Understanding the needs of technology users, allowing technology-producing SMEs to present their developed solutions, and providing opportunities for long-term collaborations have further strengthened the impact of the program. At this point, seeing that this vision has significantly materialized gives us great satisfaction."

Onur Eren, Chairman of the TÜSİAD SD2 Task Force, expressed:
"It makes us very happy to see that the TÜSİAD SD2, which we initiated in 2018, is truly fulfilling its mission today. As TÜSİAD SD2 completes its 7th year, it represents a growing ecosystem with 1,344 Technology User representatives and 2,443 registered Suppliers on the platform. Additionally, it has a unique database in our country with 638 supplier solutions and 160 customer presentation videos included. Our main goal for 2025 is for Technology User companies to use TÜSİAD SD2 as their own procurement platform. Moreover, we will have new initiatives to support our suppliers in both seeking investments and accessing global markets."
