France's 10-Year Bond Yield Approaches Greece's

After the political uncertainty arising from budget discussions, the yield of France's 10-year government bonds was approaching that of Greek bonds. BlueBay CIO Mark Dowding noted in a report, “It is striking to think that a more current definition of what constitutes the EU would likely now include Italy and France.” Meanwhile, he argued that Spain, Ireland, and Portugal have now solidified their status as 'semi-core.' According to Tradeweb, the yield of 10-year Greek bonds is trading at 2.961%, while the yield of 10-year French government bonds (OAT) stands at 2.960%. Dowding stated, “France is structurally on a deteriorating path, and there are no signs of change.”
