Çimsa Unveils Groundbreaking Products and Technologies at Intercem Americas

Çimsa participated in the Intercem Americas Fair, one of the world's meeting points for the construction materials sector, sharing its strong market position and global size with industry professionals. Transforming from a local cement exporter to a global player in construction materials through investments in recent years, Çimsa continues to strengthen its footprint in the U.S. while also expanding its product range to capture a larger share of the $2 trillion construction sector market.

The prestigious event, Intercem Americas, took place in Houston, Texas, from November 19-21. Like every year, Çimsa participated in Intercem Americas to share its value-added work that is recognized globally. At the fair attended by numerous industry professionals from nearly 50 countries, Çimsa stood out among the notable manufacturers with its ever-increasing global presence and innovative products.

According to Umut Zenar, the CEO of Çimsa, they will launch their second production facility, initiated with an investment of $82 million, in the last quarter of 2025. Zenar reminded that Çimsa is the second largest player in white cement globally and the third largest in CAC (calcium aluminate cement). He stated, “Sharing this pioneering position with industry players on international platforms, particularly in key markets like the U.S., is very valuable. Today, we significantly contribute to the sector's transformation with our presence in global markets and successful strategies for transitioning from cement to construction materials. We are further solidifying our vision of construction materials through our understanding of globalization, which is central to our business culture.”

Emphasizing the strategic investments made internationally over the last three years that have transformed them into a global construction materials player, Umut Zenar said, “Being close to our customers and strategic geographies of the sector is very important for us. In this sense, the U.S., where we hold approximately 20% market share, is one of our priority markets. Currently, the total size of the construction sector in the U.S. is estimated to be around $2 trillion. We are focused on increasing our market share in the U.S., which is one of the largest construction and infrastructure markets in the world. With our existing white cement plant, we hold nearly a 20% market share in our segment. While we strengthen our presence here with new innovative products, we've also taken the first step to become a significant player in gray cement. With our ongoing construction and the gray cement plant we aim to launch in the last quarter of 2025, we will create a much more active Çimsa in the U.S. market.”

Çimsa continues to promote its global footprint in different geographies. At the Irefcon India event in Goa, India, and the Abu Dhabi Dry-mix fair in Abu Dhabi, it represented the Turkish construction materials sector. Sharing innovative solutions in the field of construction chemicals, especially calcium aluminate cement (CAC), with fair participants, Çimsa also informed its stakeholders about new technologies developed through the synergy between the Sabancı Technology Center in Munich and the R&D center Formülhane in Mersin.
