Yilmaz: We Discussed Steps to Strengthen Our Cooperation with Oman Across a Wide Spectrum
In a meeting with Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that they discussed steps to strengthen cooperation across a wide range of areas such as trade, energy, defense industry, education, and investments. He stated, "We aim to increase our current trade volume, which exceeds 1.5 billion dollars, to 5 billion dollars through joint efforts."
Minister Yılmaz said in a statement made via X: "We met in Ankara with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, who is visiting our country at the official invitation of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
As Turkey, we see Oman's dialogue and consensus-based approach, with which we have deep-rooted friendship and brotherhood ties, as an important element for regional and global peace, and we desire to strengthen our cooperation in this area.
We are pleased with the rapid progress of our joint projects in the energy sector, particularly regarding LNG supply from Oman, and the strategic dimension gained in our defense industry cooperation.
In our meeting with His Majesty Tariq, we addressed steps to strengthen our cooperation in a wide range of areas including trade, energy, defense industry, education, and investments. We aim to increase our trade volume, which currently exceeds 1.5 billion dollars, to 5 billion dollars through our combined efforts.
