Retail Sales in Germany Plummet More Than Expected

In October, retail sales in Germany decreased by 1.5% compared to the previous month, falling more than expected. Economists had anticipated a decline of 0.3%. In comparison to the same month last year, retail sector sales recorded a real increase of 1.0%. According to data from the statistics office, food sales rose by 0.1% in October, while non-food sales fell by 2.2%.
