A Cautious Atmosphere on Wall Street as Thanksgiving Approaches

As Thanksgiving approaches, a cautious atmosphere prevails on Wall Street. Futures indices showed a decline ahead of the release of the core personal consumption expenditures price index (core PCE), which is the inflation metric monitored by the Fed.

Economists anticipate a 0.2% monthly increase and a 2.3% annual increase in the overall PCE Price Index. Meanwhile, core PCE inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, is expected to rise by 0.29% month-over-month and 2.8% year-over-year.

Investors are also evaluating recent economic policy choices, including Donald Trump's appointment of Kevin Hassett to head the National Economic Council and Jamieson Greer as U.S. Trade Representative.

Currently, the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are down 0.07%, the S&P 500 is down 0.17%, and the Nasdaq-100 is down 0.34%.

In Europe, the EuroStoxx 600 Index is down 0.35%, the DAX is down 0.58%, while the FTSE 100 is up 0.13%.
