The event, which provides an international platform for a visionary outlook on the future of the telecommunications sector, discussed the latest trends for 5G, Smart Technologies, and beyond. ZTE chose Turkey as the host country for its largest global event, the 5G Summit and User Congress, for the year 2024. Taking place in Turkey under the theme “Achieve Success with Smart Innovations,” the event offered a global perspective on the future of 5G and digital technologies.

Netaş (IS:NETAS), one of Turkey's most competent technology companies with extensive experience in information and communication technologies, hosted ZTE’s largest global event, the ZTE 5G Summit and User Congress 2024, in collaboration with ZTE on November 5-6, 2024, at the Çırağan Kempinski in Istanbul. The event garnered significant interest from leaders in the telecommunications sector and international participants.

The summit began with speeches from ZTE CEO Xu Ziyang, titled “The Digital Bridge of Civilization: Connections between Carbon and Silicon,” and the opening remarks by Ömer Fatih Sayan, Turkey's Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure. The event brought together industry organizations, standardization bodies, operators, think tanks, industry partners, analysts, and other global ecosystem players.

Over 700 participants from approximately 40 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America witnessed ZTE's technological innovations in telecommunications, information technologies, and end-user devices at the summit. Visionary leaders and analysts from prestigious organizations such as GSMA, 3GPP, FTTH European Council, and GTI (Global TD-LTE Initiative) gathered alongside leading industry partners like Qualcomm for valuable discussions. The common goal was to promote advancement through smart innovations and develop a robust ecosystem, from GSMA's vision of "Smart Innovations for a Brighter Future" to Qualcomm's commitment to supporting popular devices.

The first day of the summit featured discussions led by senior executives from various operators and telecommunications organizations, as well as global futurists on the new possibilities offered by 5G, artificial intelligence, and next-generation network technologies. Turkcell (IS:TCELL) CEO Ali Taha Koç shared his insights on the innovations and applications of 5G and beyond technologies while also discussing their future R&D vision. Türk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) CNO Zafer Orhan detailed example scenarios and strategic objectives regarding 5G technologies, providing important evaluations of sector developments.

Participants, including Turkey's leading telecommunications operators and international operators, had the opportunity to gain detailed information about the integration of 5G into business processes and to closely explore ZTE’s innovative solutions. Panels and talks throughout the event facilitated valuable exchanges of ideas centering on innovative strategies within the telecommunications sector.

During the “Smart Innovation” themed panel held on the first day, Netaş CEO Sinan Dumlu shared his vision for the telecommunications and information technology sector with international participants on stage. He noted that the impact of new technologies might initially seem very rapid yet relatively smaller, while their true influence is comparatively slower but significantly more substantial. He also addressed the three instances of “convergence” experienced in recent years.

In the Server Technologies Session on the second day, Sinan Dumlu emphasized the importance of local Netaş servers in his presentation titled “Server Modernization,” discussing the need for servers as the core processing power behind cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and application software. Alongside ZTE’s cutting-edge products and solutions, Netaş introduced many products from its local product portfolio, including Turkey's first domestic server, Netaş Cloud Server, Visium Shell (LON:RDSa), and V2X to an international audience.

Expressing the significance of hosting the ZTE 5G Summit and User Congress in Istanbul, which brings together participants from all around the globe and is one of the most important events in the field of technology, Netaş CEO Sinan Dumlu stated, “This important event allowed us to showcase our technological strength with our partner ZTE and to reiterate our goals for bringing local products and solutions to global markets. We had the chance to introduce ZTE's high-tech products to Turkish customers while conveying Netaş products and services that complement ZTE solutions to numerous foreign telecommunications operators and organizations. This event is of great importance as a concrete example of the value Netaş creates in technology and our mission to advance Turkey.”

ZTE Europe and Americas President Peng Aiguang expressed his joy in hosting the congress in such a strategically located region like Turkey, stating, “As ZTE, we continue to offer our solutions that integrate artificial intelligence, 5G, and advanced technologies to foster development in every area of the digital world. Strengthening Turkey's role in this transformation and enhancing our inter-industry collaboration is one of our top priorities. Together with Netaş, we aim to create an ecosystem that accelerates digital transformation and brings the benefits of smart innovation to everyone. Netaş's local insights, R&D capabilities, and technological advancements significantly enhance our collaborative efforts.”
