Customs Duty on Sunflower Seed Imports Under Quota Set to Zero
In the context of the tariff quota defined for the importation intended for domestic sunflower seed purchases before the 2025 harvest period, the customs duty has been reduced to zero. The decision regarding the amendment of the "Implementation of Tariff Quota for Oilseed Sunflower Seed and Crude Sunflower Oil Imports" has been published in the Official Gazette.
A tariff quota was opened with an 8% customs duty for the import of 1 million tons of oilseed sunflower seeds or a 20% customs duty for the import of 400,000 tons of crude sunflower oil. With today’s decision, the 8% customs duty on oilseed sunflower seed imports has been eliminated. This implementation will be in effect from January 1, 2025, to April 30, 2025. There has been no change in the 20% customs duty for importing crude sunflower oil.
