SOCAR Marine Obtains International ISCC EU Certification

SOCAR Marine has earned the ISCC EU (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) in line with its sustainability strategy through various projects.

The statement reads:
"SOCAR Marine, a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, has demonstrated its success in the sustainable production and supply chain of biomass, biofuels, and other renewable raw materials by obtaining this certification on an international scale. The ISCC EU certification not only documents SOCAR Marine's commitment to environmental and social responsibility in its production processes but also highlights its contribution to a transparent and sustainable global supply chain.

This certification enables SOCAR Marine to facilitate biomass trade while supporting a holistic approach that reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability, as well as social and economic sustainability goals.

Petkim, another of SOCAR Turkey's group companies, also holds the ISCC PLUS certification. Since 2022, Petkim has played a pioneering role in sustainability with the ISCC PLUS certification. Petkim transparently ensures the traceability of products produced from sustainable raw materials throughout the supply chain.

By utilizing a mass balance methodology, Petkim processes naphtha derivatives obtained from used cooking oils and plastic waste, producing circular and bio-circular products. In this context, it supports sustainable production with low carbon footprint products such as Ethylene, Propylene, LDPE, PP, ACN, Benzene, C5, and Xylene."
