Market Outlook: Euro Maintains Its Vulnerability

Forex - ING analyst Chris Turner stated that despite European concerns about the recent tariff threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, the Euro remains fragile. Trump indicated he would impose tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada immediately after taking office in January. Turner remarked, "The fact that Europe was not mentioned in Trump's initial tariff announcement may be a relief on the continent." However, he noted that European policymakers will likely continue to worry that Trump could soon turn his attention to the European automotive sector or tariffs more broadly. Turner added, "The threat of further tariffs on China indicates the direction of global trade, which is negative for the Euro."
