Turk Telekom's LTE Base Station Fiber Connection Rate Reaches 53%

As of the third quarter of 2024, Türk Telekom has increased its fiber network length to 459,000 kilometers and its fiber household coverage to 32.7 million, raising the percentage of fiber-connected base stations to 53%.

Currently, approximately 10 million households have direct fiber access to their homes. By connecting 53% of our LTE mobile base stations with fiber, we have made significant progress in this area. Leading Turkey’s digital transformation, Türk Telekom continues its efforts centered on digitization with its fiber power spread across 81 provinces. By the third quarter of 2024, Türk Telekom's fiber network has reached 459,000 kilometers, with fiber household coverage hitting 32.7 million. The percentage of fiber-connected base stations, contributing to the strengthening of the infrastructure necessary for the widespread adoption of 5G, has reached 53%.

According to Ericsson’s study, the share of fiber-connected mobile base stations is expected to reach 50% globally by 2030, while 53% of our LTE base stations are already connected to fiber. This enables us to provide fast and uninterrupted internet experiences, both in fixed-line and mobile, successfully completing more than half of the fiber connections that lay the groundwork for the transition to 5G.
