Istanbul Stock Exchange Begins the Day Flat: Which Stocks Took the Spotlight at Opening?
The BIST 100 index started the day with a decrease of 0.06%, opening at 9,654.12 points. Following a flat opening, a calm trend continued in the initial trades.
In yesterday's transactions, the BIST 100 index concluded the day with an increase of 1.15%, finishing at 9,659.96 points. The index experienced fluctuations during the day, reaching a low of 9,591.47 and a high of 9,720.33 points, closing at a level 110.07 points higher than yesterday's close. The price of the index in terms of foreign currency reached 279.35 dollars.
From a daily performance perspective, of the sectoral and national indices in the stock market, 60 ended the day with gains while 5 finished lower. The best performer of the day was the transportation index, rising by 4.84%, while the biggest loser was the mining index, which fell by 1.73%.
Among the stocks included in the BIST 100 index, 70 out of 100 gained value, while 28 lost value. The total trading volume of the index throughout the day amounted to 124.9 billion TRY, constituting 78.89% of the total market trading volume.
On a sector basis, insurance, SMEs, and communication were among those that started the day positively. In contrast, the sports, trade, and metal indices were among those that began the day with the most significant declines.

In Borsa Istanbul, CEOEM, CASA, and DURDO shares reached the ceiling price at the opening, emerging as the fastest-rising stocks. FENER, along with MEGAP and KERVN, were the most declining stocks in the first hour.
In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL opened the day with an increase of 0.2%, reaching 34.64. The Euro/TL rose by 0.1%, trading at 35.34. The price of gram gold decreased by nearly 2%, falling to the 2,912 TRY band.
In foreign stock markets, Asian indices turned negative today, while European and US markets, which closed positively yesterday, experienced a divergence in the morning hours. US futures are slightly up while European futures are in the negative.
