Exporters' Sentiment Rebounds Slightly in Germany

Foreks - The sentiment among exporters in Germany showed some improvement in November. According to the survey results conducted by the Ifo Institute, the Ifo export expectations index rose to -5.9 points in November, up from a revised -6.5 points from the previous month.

Klaus Wohlrabe, Head of Ifo Surveys, stated, "Companies are uncertain, but they are waiting to see what trade policy Trump will ultimately implement. Additionally, the dollar has appreciated significantly since the election, which could benefit exporters."

The survey results indicate that, overall, the sector remains quite cautious about the development of foreign business. The metal sector continues to be the most affected, with significant declines expected in exports. Companies in the automotive sector are also anticipating a decline, although not as strong as the previous month.

There has been a slight negative trend in mechanical engineering for months. In the chemical sector, positive and negative outlooks are almost balanced. Food and beverage manufacturers are in the best position and expect an increase in exports.
