China's Container Shipping Index Rises for the Fourth Consecutive Week
Forex - The China Container Freight Index (CCFI) has shown an increase for the fourth consecutive week. According to data calculated by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, during the period of November 8-15, the index rose by 2.0% to 1467.91 points, following a previous week's increase of 3.7%.
In the reported week, the region with the highest increase was the Persian Gulf/Red Sea, showing a rise of 7.5%, while the region experiencing the largest decline was the South Africa route, with a decrease of 7.3%.
The CCFI tracks spot and contract freight rates for 14 different routes based on data from 22 international shipping companies. The index was set at 1,000 points on January 1, 1998.
