The Number of Drilling Rigs in the U.S. Maintains Its Steady Course

Foreks - The number of active oil and natural gas drilling rigs operated by energy companies in the U.S. has remained stable for the fifth consecutive week. According to a report shared via email by Baker Hughes and Foreks News, the total number of oil and natural gas rigs decreased by just one in the week ending November 22, bringing the total down to 583. This is 39 rigs lower compared to the same period last year.

The number of oil rigs increased by one to 479, while the number of natural gas rigs decreased by two to 99, leaving the rigs that operate on both products unchanged at five. Of the drilling rigs that set future projections for oil production, 568 are on land, 13 are offshore, and 2 are in inland waters.

-Canada and the Gulf of Mexico- In the same week, the number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by one to 201. In the country, the oil rig count decreased by four to 133, while the natural gas rig count rose by four to 67. Additionally, one rig that operates on both products was also counted.

In Mexico, the number of drilling rigs remained unchanged at 12, while the total count for North America also held steady at 784.
